I felt like the headwraps were often overlooked and not receiving the recognition they deserved. In most of my projects, I try to incorporate a but of my culture and historical background into them. This one was no exception. They're beautiful, elegant and have strongly based roots to many of my ancestral countries. This project was animated in Photoshop and After Effects.

ORIGINAL PHOTOS
Because I was having such a hard time looking for free images of Black women in headwraps, I decided to take my own. I recruited my roommate and friends as my models, hung a bed sheet up in our living room and began shooting. I later edited the photos so they'd be ready for animation in After Effects.
