NUPOL KIAZOLU & TONY WEAVER

The Black Student Association at the Savannah College of Art & Design undergoes a social media campaign every February for Black History Month following a different theme. This year the theme was young Black activists making a difference in their communities. As the President and resident animator on the BSA's Executive Board, I took it upon myself to propose the idea of highlighting a different activist every week with an animation.
Nupol Kiazolu is an 18 year old activist and the President of the Black Lives Matter Youth Coalition in the Greater New York area. Tony Weaver is the Founder of Weird Enough Productions, which exists to promote positive representation of Black men in the media.
REFERENCES

I was heavily inspired by these paper cut out pieces I was seeing all over Pinterest. I loved the idea of showcasing little scenes inside.
TECHNICAL STUFF
I achieved the paper cut out style in Illustrator and then brought it into After Effects to be animated.
